Kirk Hammett of Metallica Adds Exclusive Les Paul Guitar to His Arsenal

Metallica’s lead guitarist Kirk Hammett has added a super rare Les Paul guitar to his already impressive collection of instruments. The guitar is a 1959 Les Paul Standard in a rare color called “Green Lemon Fade”. The guitar was recently unveiled at the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California.

According to Hammett, the guitar was originally owned by an anonymous collector who had acquired it from the original owner. The collector then sold it to a music store, where Hammett was able to purchase it. He has dubbed the guitar “Greeny Jr.” as it is a smaller version of another guitar he owns called “Greeny”, which was famously owned by Peter Green of Fleetwood Mac.

Hammett is known for his love of vintage guitars and is one of the most respected guitarists in the world. He has used a variety of instruments throughout his career, but his Les Paul guitars are among his favorites. With the addition of “Greeny Jr.”, Hammett’s collection now includes some of the rarest and most coveted guitars in the world.

Metallica fans can look forward to hearing “Greeny Jr.” in action during the band’s upcoming tour, which is set to kick off in September 2023. In the meantime, Hammett will continue to add to his impressive collection and inspire guitarists around the world with his talent and passion for music.
